Instead of the traditional four-wheel skateboard, this amazing board can make smooth, quick 360-degree turns on just two wheels. Just stand on the sturdy traction plates and subtle movements propel the Ripstick even up a hill! The front and rear flexible panels are controlled by a spring-oriented bar located on the top of the wheels. The rugged polyurethane wheels are 77mm/85A with ABEC-5 bearings. I bought the RipStick as a birthday present for my 13 y/o grandson. He loves the blue color (his favorite). His first try was very short & wobbly. He is getting to the point of mastering his own technique. All his friends love his new "toy" & now they all want one. I've seen these @ Wal-Mart cheaper, but they don't compare in color, style or durability. The wheels/casters are of very good quality. The CD that came w/ the RipStick was perfect in giving directions for safe usage. I ordered it 13 days before Christmas & was totally shocked to have received it w/in 4 days!! My grandson is very happy w/ his new toy!!!

This is an excellent device. I am a 40 year old only "kind of" athletic man. I don't know how to skateboard, but I was able to pick this up in about 20 minutes.
It is really a great device for getting a fun little workout in. And even better...if you happen to have kids in the 2-5 year old range, it is a great way to accompany them when they ride on their tricycle, scooter and bicycle (with training wheels). Let me explain why. If you are riding on a bike and your kid is on a trike or a bicycle then they are going *painfully* slow. You will be constantly waiting for them. But on this little beastie, you will have to bust your ass to keep up with them on bike. You can go at a fairly comfortable clip when they are on a scooter. And if they are on a trike, then you can go in largish circles.
You are entertained, they are entertained. Everyone is happy. And you are helping to stave off the inevitable softening of your body.
It is *very* durable. I am 200 pounds and I beat the bejeesus out of this thing.
I do not agree with criticism that this is overpriced. It is well made and stands up to some abuse.
NOTE: I do *not* do the fancy pants skater tricks on it. So maybe it would break if I did that. Not an issue for me.

I'm 13 and i got a Ripstik for Christmas,this is the best thing i've ever gotten.
If i had known how fun they were i would have bought one a LONG time ago.Not only are they fun there sturdy,well made,and easy to ride.Took me only three days to really be able to ride it.Everyone in my family wants one now.So do all my friends.
Ripstiks are worth every penny that you spend.BUY ONE!!!
