The Better Bottle with Big Bite Valve makes it easy to hydrate on the go. | What is BPA? Bisphenol-A is an ingredient used to make polycarbonate. In recent months, there has been increasing consumer demand for a bottle that is not made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), and CamelBak is proud to introduce BPA-free bottles with the same great properties customers have come to expect from polycarbonate: vibrant color, clarity, durability, dishwasher-safe, and with no residual taste. As of the end of April 2008, the entire CamelBak bottle line will be available in BPA-Free materials in North America. What are phthalates? Phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) are a component added to some plastics to make them soft and pliable. None of CamelBak's bottles have ever contained phthalates. What is the BPA-free Better Bottle made from? The CamelBak Better Bottle line is made from a new copolyester polymer called Tritan, made by Eastman. It offers the same great qualities that we have come to expect from polycarbonate bottles and is 100 percent BPA-Free. The Big Bite Valve is made of medical-grade silicone for long life and taste-free performance. About CamelBak CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. The first CamelBak products proved to be very popular among mountain bikers and motocross riders, because it allowed them to drink without taking their hands off of the handlebars in technical terrain. The product began to cross over into other sports when scientific studies showed athletes drank more fluids and performed better when they wore a CamelBak. Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits. In addition to cycling, CamelBak has Hands-Free Hydration systems for hiking, running, snowboarding and skiing. CamelBak's state-of-the-art packs and hydration systems have benefited athletes, outdoorsmen, and soldiers around the world. While CamelBak has grown tremendously since the early days, one thing hasn't changed: CamelBak still believes in the performance advantage that proper hydration delivers for just about any activity. The privately-held company is headquartered in Petaluma, California.

LOVE THIS BOTTLE! February 9, 2010 M. Pinard I purchased this bottle for my father for Christmas. He is a rural mail carrier and needs a bottle that doesn't leak. He loves it! It is a wonderful bottle to have if you're worried about things leaking. I own one myself, I just fill it in the morning and toss it in my book bag. I don't ever have to worry about books, or my computer getting wet, again- I love this bottle!
Fantastic for 2-year-olds and preschoolers! February 8, 2010 Minnesota Mom (Minneapolis, MN) I bought two of these for my 2-year-old and 4-year-old. They're fantastic. I tried aluminum bottles but didn't like how they dented when dropped, and they were hard to clean. These bottles are BPA free, and leak-free even when the spout is in the up-and-drink position. This is wonderful! I was tired of baby sippy cups with too many pieces that were hard to clean, and straws that would eventualy rip and leak. These Camelbak straws are tough and bigger, therefore easier to clean. It took a little bit of practice for my 2-year-old to understand the "bite and drink" technique, but not long. I like that the straws go down for transport and stay clean, and the loop makes it easy to carry or clip onto a carabiner. And they also fit into the stroller cupholders, unlike some baby sippy cups. So for kiddos, I give these an A+.
Great Product February 8, 2010 Michael V. Hansen (Bountiful, Utah) I ordered this bottle for my dad for christmas. The bottle is excellent for short hikes or taking to the office. I like it so much I bought 6 of them for family and myself.
all around great quality February 7, 2010 Soar I bought a number of the 1 liter bottles because I am working on increasing water intake and always keeping a bottle around me (at work, in the car, at home). The bottle is well priced, well thought out for ergonomics, and feels solid. Everything seems to be well thought out... the lid is made of a plastic that has some kind of texture that makes it perfect to grip and unscrew. The nipple was a little different to use at first but I got over it. Love the way it folds down to ensure no leaking (I've seen other bottles do this by pinching a straw, this bottle does the cutoff with a mechanical joint, much better approach).
My only concern (and I've seen others complain about it) is there is no way I am aware of to easily clean the lid (especially inside the mouth piece). If anyone has suggestions, please enlighten me.
Overall... love the bottle.
Love my CamelBacks February 6, 2010 jacksonian (NC, USA) I bought a few of the 1L Camelbacks specifically for the gym. They're too big for some car cupholders, but they also hold 25% more so they work great for the gym. Best parts are that they're easy to clean (dishwasher safe), you can't spill, and you don't have to turn the bottle upside down to drink. Very durable and attractive. Can't really find any negatives.
